The meeting collected a grand total of 15 868 participants, where 12 613 were scientific, 2 249 exhibitors, 699 undergraduate and 307 other. The IUPS portion of the meeting included 20 invited named-lectures, 80 symposia, 52 featured topics (mini-symposia) and 2 993 poster presentations.

Theme: Transport and membrane trafficking in cells.
The meeting collected about 150 participants, 4 invited plenary lectures, 29 symposia and 68 posters. It was a successful meeting with lectures from Australia, Canada, France, The Netherlands, UK, USA and the Scandinavian countries.
2003
October 11-14: Odense, Demark: Details PhysPharm 2003. Scandinavian Congress of Physiology and Pharmacology
About 350 participants, 6 invited plenary lectures, 21 symposia, 200 posters. A highly successful meeting of Nordic physiologists and pharmacologists + guests from 13 other countries. The abstracts from the meeting can be found on the website, and will be published in Acta Physiologica Scandinavica.
2002
January 31-February 4: Canada
A group of 16 scientists from the Scandinavian Physiological Society participated in the Annual Meeting of the Canadian Physiological Society, presenting work related to microgravity and the autonomic control of circulation.
March 15-19: Tübingen, Germany
Joint Meeting with Deutsche Physiologische Gesellschaft and The Physiological Society.
This highly successful meeting attracted about 1100 participants, with more than 900 abstacts. The abstracts were published in Pflügers Archiv, Supplement to Vol 443, 2002. The Scandinavians contributed close to 50 abstracts, initiated five symposia and participated in several others. The prestigious FEPS Lecture was presented by Dr Bente Klarlund Pedersen, Copenhagen: "The cytokine response to exercise".
2001

More than 250 participants. 3 plenary lectures, 8 symposia with 46 presentations, 90 poster presentations. The abstracts from the meeting have been published in Acta Physiologica Scandinavica 174:2, February 2002.

Joint meeting with the German Physiological Society
