Acta Physiologica Scandinavica was founded in 1889 as Skandinavisches Archiv für Physiologie and is one of the oldest physiological journals in the world. In January 2006 it changed its name to Acta Physiologica. The journal is healthy and is the main source of active income for the Scandinavian Physiological Society, which gives the money back to its members in the form of support to meetings, travel grants and many other activities. The impact factor of Acta Physiologica is 2,455.
