Contact SPS Newsletter from SPS, May 2011

Dear member

Welcome to the SPS Newsletter for May 2011.

In this issue you can read more about the SPS annual meeting in Bergen and who has been chosen as the Exchange Lecturer from the Australian Physiological Society this year. We also congratulate those who have been selected to receive a travel grant to the meeting in Bergen. SPS will also be represented with a symposium at the annual FEPS-meeting in September. And it is already time to start planning for the big IUPS congress 2013.

If you have some interesting news you want to share, contact us and we will put it up on our webpage or Facebook Page. Do not forget that you also have the opportunity to advertise new positions here!

And by the way, do not forget to sign up for a lifelong membership this year! During 2011 it will only cost you 1200 SEK if you are a student and 1600 SEK if you are an ordinary member.

SPS wishes you all a very nice summer and hopefully we will meet in Bergen in August!

The Australian Physiological Society Exchange Lecturer

The AuPS EL for 2011 is the president of the Australian Physiological Society, prof. David Allen. He will visit the annual meeting in Bergen, August 12-14th and give the plenary lecture "Interactions between stretch activated channels and reactive oxygen species; role in Duchenne muscular dystrophy". He will also have the opportunity to visit departments of interest i Scandinavia during his visit. For more information regarding the AuPS EL program read the AuPS newsletter for March 2011.
